RC PRO Finals in Porter, Tx (At Mikes Hobby Shop)
We arrived at the track around 11 oclock on Friday morning, with practice was set to open at 12. We unpacked and set up quickly and as we had all our prep done before time, we were one of the first cars out on track.. This high clay content track was still wet from the watering in the morning, and was providing very high grip with my super soft freerides on my buggy. I soon was turning some good laps and got the layout of the track down, and committed to memory.
In the first round of Truggy I managed to take the TQ, and in Buggy I was second, so a really good start.. I made some changes that didn't work so well and ended up going backwards for rounds two and three in buggy. In the Truggy class my car was excellent throughout, and I was able to take the overall TQ.
When mains day came I went back to my original set up on my Buggy and the car was great again. For the main I chose BETA Cubez in Soft compound, and they were brilliant and I was able to challenge for the win, just coming up short in second. In the Truggy main, I had an early battle with Steve B, but was able to see him off and go on to take the win with my Agama A8T.
A great way to end 2014, and now I look forward to the new A215 Buggy and a great 2015 season….
The fifth and final round of the BRCA National Championships took place at Sough over the weekend with the Championship on the line between Darren Bloomfield and Elliott Boots. Elliott was in a strong position with Darren having to TQ and win, with Elliott being 14th or lower to take the title.
Due to weather conditions early on in the year round 3 had been washed out so the rerun filled the reserve date. Quiet a different story this time with 20c and the sun blazing in the Cork sky's .. CRCCC (Cork Radio Control Car Club) has a very fast flowing European style track where any small mistakes punish big time ...
August Bank Holiday usually has a 3 day race of one form or another over it, and this year was no different. However the Herts club tried something different and rather than have a race dedicated to one tyre manufacture, they created an event where the 3 most prominent tyre brands in the UK
